Or, perhaps, could it be that some people are developing a crit mania? I have noticed some individuals ONLY give critiques. They give critiques just about anything and to anyone. The curious thing is often the critique doesn’t match the work (!), it’s like the person have NO idea on what he/she is talking about.

It’s like someone who had never seen a piece of Monet, coming to an exhibition where there’s only ONE or TWO of his paintings and saying: “this guy’s got a talent, but I think his work looks blurry!” – Even if this person who made this comment is a skillful artist, does it make sense? Let’s pretend you know Monet very well, and you were just beside this person listening to what he/she just said. You would be probably thinking: “What?! You’re pretending like you KNOW something here!”

There’s also those who critique other’s works, telling them “you should move this texture a little bit more up, and increase the contrast on this part and…” and you read that crit, click at the guy’s profile/portfolio and you have a big deception. That person can hardly make a doodle and his works look like they came straight from the kinder garden! Again, what would you think? Would you follow this advice? Maybe the guy is even right, but how would he convince you?

REALLY great article on how to actually crit, and keep it helpful and relevant. I mentioned some stuff about how sometimes, the RPGM community can be harsh to be harsh over both traditional art resources and pixel resources. I learned a lot from this, as well!
